1st Fondant Wedding Cake

Ok, so here it is...the wedding cake finished! It turned out nice, but not perfect...I was going for a simple elegance sort of style here, and used the color of the bridesmaids' dresses as the accent color. This is the 3rd fondant cake I make, and the 1st one that is a wedding cake.

This took so long to do...first there was baking all the cakes...8 in total, all different sizes and flavors, but it turned out that I removed one of the layers (which was two cakes) cause it just didn't look right...that was fun to do without making a big mess...I was worried there for a minute that I f*cked the whole thing up!

Then I had to cover each cake with a crumb coating (for the 'layman' LOL that just means buttercream icing) and then roll out the fondant (which I prepared the day before from scratch) and place it over top each layer making sure there's no creases on the sides..then cut excess...

Then I had to carefull assemble it...roll out some more fondant, this time colored, for the ribbons and bows...and then use a friggin' zip lock bag for the dots cause my piping machine broke! That is propbably one of the parts that took the longest...all the dots! LOL And it was so hard on my hand...I was getting cramps in my thumb!

Well, although I frigged it up on the ribbons in some parts (not perfectly even all the way around the cakes), I think it's better than an ice cream cake....everyone deserves a nice wedding cake, so I hope my friends like it!
