Custom Dogwood

This is a custom design done for the lovely and wonderful . ****Dianna loves the design so I have edited this to have only a small pic of it-so nobody copy this please!!****

She wants a tattoo design for her inside calf, a religious dogwood tattoo, but something not so obvious that it has a religious meaning...this is what I came up with.

The story or fable of the dogwood is quite intriguing and very beautiful...it is said that Jesus's cross was made of dogwood, so after his crucification, he changed the tree to be smaller, and it's wood to be twisted and unusable to make crosses ever again...and the flower with four petals to represent the four points of the cross with a 'rusty' color at each point to represent the nails and the redness in the flower to represent his blood.

So my thought in this was to create a design that was not only beautiful, but showed also showed the representation of the twisted dogwood.
